That sentence is the whole reason UTERIFIC exists. Period pain is one of the most common experiences on earth and one of the least seriously treated. Most of us were handed a hot water bottle and a shrug, and told to get on with it.
What we make
The UTERIFIC Period Patch is a warming herbal patch you wear on your lower abdomen or lower back on period days. It is air-activated: open the sachet and the patch begins to warm on its own, holding a low, steady heat for up to six hours. No cable, no microwave, no refill. It goes on under your clothes and comes with you.
Inside are four botanicals with long histories in traditional Chinese women's practice — dong quai (當歸), mugwort (艾草), peony root (白芍) and saffron (藏紅花). Mugwort is the herb behind moxibustion. Dong quai has been a cornerstone of women's herbal formulas for centuries. We did not invent any of this. We made it wearable.
Eastern wisdom, made wearable
In Traditional Chinese Medicine the body is a network of relationships rather than a set of separate parts, and warmth is one of the oldest tools in it. That thinking is where our formulation comes from. What we have added is the format: something you can put on at 8am and forget about, that doesn't look clinical, and that doesn't announce to a room that you're having a bad day.
The patch is finished in a deep-red Liu Mo Wen marbling, because period care has spent long enough looking like a first-aid kit.
Not just for babies
The uterus gets talked about almost exclusively in terms of fertility. It is an organ that most people with one will live alongside for forty years, through cycles, changes and everything in between — and periods are just the beginning of that. We would like it to get the attention, the language and the products it has been owed for a very long time.
